Job Description
The AML Officer will assist the Head of Risk and Compliance who is responsible for the overall conduct, oversight as well as promotion of a good corporate culture and compliance with all applicable laws, guidelines, policies, etc.
The AML Officer will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance.
Job Requirements
- Review and process AML/KYC documents in accordance with company policies and procedures;
- Assess client documentation for validity; follow up with customers when required;
- Ensure all CDD requirements are met throughout the customer life cycle;
- Communicate and respond to internal stakeholders and client queries promptly, accurately, and with a high degree of professionalism;
- Ensure that all data, documents, and information collected as part of the Due Diligence process are compliant;
- Clearing alerts/matches generated; including PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons), sanctions, and adverse media checks;
- Report unusual transactions or behavior aligned with reporting policies and procedures;
- Complete daily AML/ATF reporting;
- Monitor updates and changes to laws, regulations, guidelines, and compliance trends within the relevant industries;
- Monitor compliance with existing and new or amended laws, rules, and regulations;
- Assist in the implementation of and review and update business compliance manuals and other documented internal control measures to meet the changing regulatory requirements;
- Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks;
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk; and
- Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Minimum 6-7 years of working experience in a compliance role with an asset management/ banking/ financial institution and/or regulatory environment;
- Good analytical skills and an eye for detail;
- Good communication and presentation skills; and
- Degree in law, business, management, or equivalent.
